The Grammy-winning artist has officially surpassed 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify, making her the youngest artist ever to reach this milestone. Eilish becomes only the third artist in history to achieve this feat, following The Weeknd and Taylor Swift.
Eilish’s rise to this milestone is particularly noteworthy given her relatively modest catalog of 82 songs, compared to her predecessors who had significantly larger discographies when they reached the same mark. Spotify’s Global Head of Music, Jeremy Erlich, released a statement celebrating Eilish’s accomplishment. “Spotify has been a part of Billie’s story from the start. Ever since ‘Ocean Eyes,’ she has continuously grown her fan base around the world. What she and [brother-collaborator] Finneas have achieved since 2016 is quite remarkable, and all this by the age of 22,” Erlich remarked.
Eilish’s success on Spotify is further highlighted by her eight tracks in the platform’s Billions Club. These tracks include “Lovely” with Khalid, “Bad Guy,” and “When the Party’s Over,” each accumulating millions of streams. Her most recent album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, with all 20 songs making it to the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
In addition to her commercial success, Eilish has garnered critical acclaim, earning both Grammy and Oscar awards by the age of 22. Her Oscar-winning song, “What Was I Made For?” was featured in the Barbie movie, further showcasing her versatility and talent.
